Our target audience would be aged 16 to 25, predominantly being males.
This is because Ike is a male, underground rapper. The rap music industry is dominated by males as it often has a darker tone and can occasionally talk about women as objects - Ike as an artist however objects against this typical representation of women, money and alcohol in his music.
"What you want, the gold and the h*es and the lights. The cars and the clothes what a life - Do your stars get chose and your bars get low when you're dull as a f*cking butter knife."
In this line he is almost mocking artists that simplify their lyricism and are dull beings all in order to become a star with the gold, h*es and lights.
In being an intelligent artist, with such intention in his music he does have a more respected female audience in comparison to mainstream artist. He also attracts a more mature audience that see the intelligence in his lyricism.
The audience's main nationality would be British/American. The artist himself is American however his music video is shot in London a place he visited whilst on tour. With the song being rapped in English and often suggestive of American culture, it would again predominantly attract a British and American audience. Secondary countries would be other English speaking countries.
Our target audience would be keen listeners of underground music, those who search the internet thoroughly to find new music. This audience may be of a certain sub-culture that are interested in street-fashion, spoken word and intelligent music. These audiences often are heavy users of social media and are based in big cities such as London or Birmingham.
These audiences would download/buy music legally. Often with underground artists they release their music for free via band camp. Their supporters would subscribe to the artist page and be alerted when the artists have gigs, merchandise and music released. They would also receive a download link for the music which they can share across their social media's developing a wider audience for the artist
