This is a narrative style music video as it shows a story of a man and a woman. This video includes dialogue and features a story the audience would follow. These styles of music videos usually work when the artist wants the music video to be more than a promo, but an extension of their talent and works. Taking their creations further than music entertainment but also film entertainment.

J Cole - Love Yourz





This music video of artist J Cole, features clips of his live tour as well as behind the scenes clips. These styles of music videos can be used amongst many artists. This particular video was very rewarding to J Cole as it shows the highlight of his career, finally playing a huge world tour, and representing his neighbourhood Fayetteville at the same time. He is able to share his success and tour with the world via this humble music video.

This video shows insight into a relationship between the artist and a male actor. It shows the man getting involved in illegal activities and he ends up cheating which results in a break up. This video is in relation to the movie Goodfellas a gangster film. It follows the plot of the film however has its own twist. These videos work alongside the promotion of movies aswell as showing respect for movies or outer influences.

Parody

This video is a parody of the song 'Riding Dirty.' They use the same track and tune however their own lyricism accompanied by an entertaining video, acting in contrast of the real song whilst also imitating some parts in a comical way.

The Internet











The video for this soulful track by The Internet uses surreal visuals and effects to add a euphoric feel, accompanying the smooth vocals and beat. These styles of videos work in adding to the atmosphere and mood of the song.






Interpret
Mick Jenkins - Dehydration



Mick Jenkins has created a video which works alongside the tough lyricism of Dehydration. The song acts as a description of a broken society. The video is also an interpretation of the lyrics - showing the drive by shooting of a male in a group of friends. The friends then continue on to retaliate, showing the vicious cycle of growing up in their hood. These videos work in the same way as narrative. Showing a visual representation of the meaning behind the song.
